Colonial Services & First Response Team Up To Give Back To Deserving Family
The wilderness is the Lampes playground. Nature expeditions, rope swings, and fishing are matched only by their love of wrestling. Having converted their garage into a make-shift wrestling gym, the family is beloved by their community for training and mentoring kids in an effort to help them find their direction and in some cases further their interest in the sport.
Once a self-sustained tree service, their family business had been hit hard by a series of injuries forcing the family to slow their pace, and turn away work. Rough terrains and deadly heights were just part of the physical dangers that face Jeff Lampe daily. Despite the persistent pain and the lack of health insurance, Jeff powers through each day in an effort to keep the family afloat. The proud father of six and his wife Shelley have not allowed their circumstances to get them down and they continue to serve their community by affording local teens the opportunity to learn more about wrestling.
Without any sustainable income to live off of, the house around them was falling apart. The foundation was splitting, the wiring was old, and the Lampe children were outgrowing their space. Their youngest daughter Angela has Down Syndrome, and needed a safe haven where Jeff and Shelley could give her the freedom to play in a place all her own.

However, on October 22 the Lampes realized that dreams really do come true. Ty Pennington, designers Paul DiMeo, Paige Hemmis, and Ed Sanders gave the Lampes the surprise of a lifetime when they arrived back from a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando to see their new house. In addition, a significant amount of money was raised to pay off the Lampe’s mortgage on their old home. Jeff Lampe was also provided with medical care he had been putting off, including surgery to repair a 10-year-old hernia.
Colonial Services and First Response Disaster Restoration Specialists assisted by providing drying and cleaning services, including dehumidification and round-the-clock monitoring and labor, to expedite the drying of the drywall, primer, and paint in the interior and exterior of the home. The project was completed the week of October 22, 2010, in Louisville, KY.
